Why "Beginning Point"?

This historical marker resides just south of Hazel Green along Highway 80. It is a significant marker of Wisconsin's history that has impacted who we are and where we live. The words on this sign are an illustration of how Jesus is "THE POINT OF BEGINNING" for every person in their relationship with God. Jesus shows us who we are and where we will live with God now and in the future through the Gospel. This marker also helps us understand that God has raised us up to commission with Him to reach everyone in Southwest Wisconsin, pointing everyone to Jesus.

Like Lucius Lyon and his team of surveyors, our fellowship has come to receive, understand, embrace and carryout its commission given by God as we look 15 years ahead with the goal of handing off a vital Spirit-filled Gospel-preaching church to the next generation for the Glory of God--with this stated mission:

"To be a Gospel witness and a light of Biblical truth, pointing everyone to Jesus.”

Our history has brought us to this "point of beginning"...our future calls us to see God's vision and commission with Him:

"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20

Our prayer is that we will in unity, love, anticipation, commitment. obedience, faith and joy now embrace our new church name, Beginning Point Church, and the mission and vision that it represents.
